September 26 is the deadline to comment on a permit request relating to the Eightmile Lake dam.
The US Army Corp of Engineers, Seattle office, issued a public notice in late August that it has received an application for a permit under the Clean Water Act relating to the proposed dam on Eightmile Lake. It is accepting public comments on the application until September 26.

The Icicle Peshastin Irrigation District filed this permit application. At one time, its position was that this permit would be in lieu of a special use permit from the US Forest Service. Since then the irrigation district and the Forest Service have held some discussions about a special use permit. The status of those discussions has not been disclosed.
